Following a safeguarding audit, Meanwood Primary School contacted TI Security to discuss what their options were, to improve the security of their site. Promptly after the call, our surveyor headed to their site in Meanwood, Leeds to discuss how we could help. After carrying out a thorough site survey and discussing their requirements with the school, TI Security provided a proposal for an Access Controlled Gate, a pair of manual gate and wall mounted fencing with custom posts was provided.
Meanwood Primary School is a Church of England school, serving the Holy Trinity Church in the Leeds Diocese. Their values ensure children are supported in a hospitable environment, where they can flourish. The school is committed to applying the latest research to shape learning environments centred around the needs and interests of its students.
Access Controlled Gate Leeds
After discussions with our surveyor, we proposed installing a manual Access Controlled Gate to the main reception, a manual Gate to the playground, and a weld mesh fence line. Their existing Gates did not meet their safeguarding requirements, as passers-by could easily gain access to the reception or playground. Additionally, the Gates were worn and no longer complimented the site.
Their new Gates are galvanised and powder-coated for durability and are 2.1 meters in height, for improved safeguarding. The main pair of Gates are also Access Controlled to heighten the assurance of safety on site, as unauthorised visitors cannot access the school property. In addition, the new mesh fence line has increased protection around the whole premises and transformed their reception and playground area.
Access Controlled Gate System
To improve security with Access Control, our engineers installed and set up an additional standalone proximity reader on the unsecure side of the main pair of Gates, extending the sites existing access control system. Additionally, they installed an audio and video intercom with an integrated digital keypad, to allow authorised visitors and deliveries to communicate with and gain entry to the site. This intercom system communicates with a wall-mounted video and audio telephone handset situated in the main school office. A surface-mounted ‘Request to Exit’ button is also situated on the secured side of the Gates for staff and visitors leaving the site.
